Mark Lawrenson believes Brighton's fluctuating form could play into Nottingham Forest's hands when the two teams meet on Tuesday (7.30pm kick-off).
Steve Cooper will take his side to the Amex under pressure to start picking up points after a disappointing start to the Premier League season, and keen to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at Wolves last time out.
Following a positive start from the Seagulls, a recent dip in form has seen them drop from fourth to seventh in the Premier League. Lawrenson described Brighton as "either very hot or very cold" and believes their inconsistency will benefit Forest.

"Brighton fans must have been thinking ‘Roberto De Zerbi’s going to be good’ after the 3-3 draw at Liverpool [in his first game as manager], but they’ve lost twice since," Lawrenson wrote in his Paddy Power predictions column. "Their form can be like that – it’s either very hot, or very cold.
"Forest shot themselves in the foot missing a penalty last weekend, so should have got a draw."
Lawrenson prediction: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-2 Nottingham Forest.
