Nottingham Forest are set to announce the signing of Gustavo Scarpa following his exit from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras, according to reports.
The midfielder had reached an initial agreement with Forest to join on a free transfer given his contract with Palmeiras was set to expire at the end of the year. Scarpa spent four years at the Sao Paulo based side, racking up a total of 211 appearances.
This season alone, Scarpa played a total of 60 games in all competitions, scoring 13 times while providing 15 assists as his side claimed the Serie A league title. The 28-year-old, who is set to play in Europe for the first time in his career, is to on his way to England to sign a three-and-a-half year contract at the City Ground, according to journalist Konstantinos Lianos.

He is also set to undergo a medical before Forest announce his arrival formally at the weekend, with his contract reportedly worth around £5 million a year.
Speaking about his move to the Reds, Scarpa previously said: "It is a dream that will come true. I think it's cool to make dreams come true, because that inner child is still alive in me.
"I'm very happy, very excited. I know it's going to be difficult because of the Premier League itself but also because of Nottingham Forest's current situation. But I'm extremely excited."
