Nottingham Forest sent furious message following 'scandalous' season ticket decision

Nottingham Forest fans are furious after the club revealed steep price increases for 2023/24 season tickets.

Adult season ticket cards will cost between £465 and £660 depending on where a seat is located in the City Ground. The hike will remain in place even if the Reds are relegated from the Premier League.

In another controversial move, some concessions have been scrapped. The youth age bracket has been changed to 12 to 19 year olds, while the adult bracket is now 20 to 64. The change means supporters aged between 20 and 23 could be paying as much as three times more than they did for their season ticket last year.

EXPLAINED: Why Nottingham Forest transfer includes surprising clause

Child tickets, available to 4 to 11-year-olds, have doubled in price from £45 to £90. A concession for over-75s no longer exists, with a senior ticket for over-65s costing between £325 and £470.

While some Forest supporters defended the increases, many more were left disappointed and enraged, with a number of them unsure if they would renew for next season. Here is what some of them had to say on Twitter following the announcement...

Hannah Clay: Forest getting rid of 18-23 season tickets is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. Wow. #NFFC

Jordan Thelen: Be interesting to see how many sing “magic on and off the pitch” after this ST news… #NFFC

Natalie: Figuring out how to afford 2x adult season tickets at £465 a piece when you have 2 young kids and can barely afford a Starbucks coffee, but can’t not renew because you’ve been going since 1996... #NFFC

Ted: From £150 to £660 in the space of year. Genuinely so upsetting. #NFFC

Aiden: £385 increase, wow! I really hope we ditch the magic on and off the pitch song now because we’re neither.

James Dunning: If I'm in a standard graduate job where I earn a £24,000 salary, my season ticket would now cost 2.75% of my income for the ENTIRE YEAR! All whilst cost of living crisis is ongoing with inflation at +10% and energy bills expected to rise 17% next winter. It's not right.

Josh: Increase of £500 for my season ticket as a uni student… plus the cost of away games and getting train back to notts to watch every home game. All to watch Plymouth at home on a Tuesday night. Jesus Christ #NFFC

Jacob: 150 to 465 pounds on a 20 year olds season card for potentially championship football is nothing short of scandalous #nffc

Emilio Pastore: Why on earth have they changed the young adult tickets to max 20 years old? How on EARTH are young adults supposed to afford that? #nffc

Jeff: Happy with renewal prices personally. Club's always been fair and has been ambitious with transfers, and owners gave it a good go this season. Even if we fall short, it’s not down to lack of investment on and off the pitch.

SarcasticForest: If anything I think the season tickets are too cheap. Just think next year, on a cold Tuesday night in November, Chris Wood bangs in a consolation against an out of form Rotherham side. We've lost the game, but that £640 you spent in April will be a distant memory. #NFFC
