Nottingham Forest have congratulated Notts County on their promotion back to the EFL.
The Magpies beat Chesterfield on penalties at Wembley Stadium to secure their place in League Two, despite finishing the National League season with 107 points. After drawing 2-2 following 120 minutes of football, Cedwyn Scott scored the deciding spot kick after substitute goalkeeper Alfie Mair saved two.
A message of congratulations has passed from one bank of the Trent to the other, with Forest taking to Twitter after the full-time whistle in the capital.
"Huge congratulations on a brilliant season," the club posted on their official account, accompanied by a red heart emoji.
A few Forest supporters echoed what their club said, with one writing: "Well done Notts. Great game and thoroughly deserve to be back in the Football League."
Another said: "Deserved to go up, why isn’t there 2 auto spots?" and a third added: "Brilliant Notts good job, batter the Wrexham next year."
