Nottingham Forest's EFL squad confirmed after January transfer window

Nottingham Forest’s squad for the rest of the season has been officially confirmed by the English Football League.

Championship teams are limited to a 25-man squad, with the Reds having used up only 21 of their allocated spots, as the EFL released lists for each of the 72 Football League clubs following the closure of the January transfer window.

Players under the age of 21 do not count towards that total, as is the case for the likes of deadline day signing Jonathan Panzo, Brennan Johnson, Braian Ojeda, Loic Mbe Soh and Alex Mighten for Forest.

Panzo was one of five new arrivals at the City Ground during January, with Aston Villa loanee Keinan Davis, defenders Steve Cook and Richie Laryea, and striker Sam Surridge all on the Reds’ list.

Others headed in the opposite direction, with the likes of Lyle Taylor and Joao Carvalho no longer part of Forest’s tally.

Midfielder Harry Arter currently remains on the club’s books but is not included on the list, having not been part of the first-team set-up for some time.

He spent the first half of the campaign at Charlton Athletic, before his loan spell was ended early. Since then, the Reds have been in discussion with the 32-year-old about his future.

Forest’s official EFL squad: Gaetan Bong, Jack Colback, Steve Cook, Keinan Davis, James Garner, Lewis Grabban, Ethan Horvath, Richie Laryea, Joe Lolley, Max Lowe, Scott McKenna, Xande Silva, Tobias Figueiredo, Cafu, Brice Samba, Jordan Smith, Djed Spence, Sam Surridge, Joe Worrall, Ryan Yates, Philip Zinckernagel.

Colback, Cook, Davis, Garner, Grabban, Lolley, Lowe, Smith, Spence, Surridge, Worrall and Yates are all classed as “home-grown” players.

Under-21 contracted players: Marcelo Saraiva, Fin Back, Josh Barnes, James Clarridge, Aaron Donnelly, Baba Fernandes, Billy Fewster, Alexander Gibson-Hammond, Ben Hammond, Oli Hammond, Riley Harbottle, Nicky Hogarth, Brennan Johnson, Ateef Konate, Julian Larsson, Loic Mbe Soh, Jamie McDonnell, Alex Mighten, Braian Ojeda, Detlef Esapa Osong, Jonathan Panzo, Rezart Rama, Jayden Richardson, Lewis Salmon, Sam Sanders, George Shelvey, Will Swan, Dale Taylor, Morgan Thomas-Sadler, Joe Watkins.
