Nottingham Forest receive transfer instruction after Newcastle comments

Nottingham Forest supporters aren't especially disappointed that a return for academy graduate Jamaal Lascelles seems like a non-starter ahead of the January transfer window.

Reports over the weekend have claimed that the Reds were 'keen on re-signing' the Newcastle United captain. Lascelles, 29, though, has suggested in recent days that he is happy to stay at the club despite a lack of playing time this season which has been claimed to be 'bad news' for Forest.

Reds fans have been vocal in their insistence that they do not want to see a reunion at the City Ground with Lascelles. Here is a selection of the reaction to these recent reports...

Garincha: No chance. We have players here just as good, if not better. As with Michael Keane, why would Forest want blokes who aren't good enough for their current teams? We are looking up, not down.

Glyn Daniels: We already have better players at the club. He's a player who never really fulfilled his potential. If he was any good, he'd be at the World Cup.

Nick Bradbury: Excellent news. Do not need him or want him back.

Ryan Savage: Brilliant news. We don't want him back. Move on.

Mark Fisher: Do we want him back, though? Isn’t this about how poor him can’t get a game. Do we really want players who can’t get a game?
