Nottingham Forest have received a possible boost after receiving more information about Keinan Davis' hamstring injury.
Davis has proved to be a hit with fans on the banks of the River Trent since signing on-loan from Premier League outfit Aston Villa. The talismanic striker has scored five goals and got two assists in 19 appearances for Steve Cooper's side.
The striker, however, picked up a hamstring injury that rules him out the remaining five games of the Championship season - a blow to Cooper's side. The 24-year-old striker was forced off in the Good Friday defeat at Luton Town and has now been ordered back to Aston Villa for pre-season by boss Steven Gerrard.

Cooper's side could receive a late boost, however, with The Mirror claiming that Davis could be involved in the play-offs if Forest can secure an extension to their league season.
They claim that Davis' injury from April 15 has been assessed and given a four-five week recovery time-frame. It means the striker, who is doing his rehab at Forest, could return if they end up in the play-offs with the Championship play-off final scheduled for May 29 and keeps alive the prospect of Davis still playing a role in Forest’s promotion push.
Forest are interested in signing the powerful frontman permanently if they are promoted to the Premier League. But Villa boss Steven Gerrard, appointed in November, has told Davis to return in pre-season to be assessed if he fits into the club’s plans.
Discussing the injury to Davis after the recent win over West Brom, boss Cooper said: "Next man up. It’s disappointing that Keinan is out, obviously, and we feel for him.
"We’ve really enjoyed him. And the fans have really taken to him. But he’s not going anywhere - he’s still here and he’ll do his rehab here.
"He won’t play now until next season. I say it like he’s out for the season, but there’s only three weeks or so left."
Asked if Davis could potentially be back for the play-offs, Cooper said: “We don’t know what’s going to happen. We’re focusing on the next game, and we’re not looking any further than the Hull game. We’ve got five games left in less than three weeks; he won’t be available in that.”
