Nottingham Forest receive major transfer boost as update emerges

Norwich City manager Dean Smith is said to not be interested in Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis.

The Villa man joined Nottingham Forest on loan in January for the remainder of the season, enjoying an excellent second half to the campaign before suffering an injury blow. He has made seven goal contributions, while scoring five, in 15 Championship appearances.

The 24-year-old suffered a hamstring injury which has ruled him out for the rest of the regular season. It is still too early to say whether he will be able to take part in the play-offs, if the Reds cement their play in the top-six in the final weeks of the season.

"Next man up," Forest boss Steve Cooper said after confirming Davis' blow. "It’s disappointing that Keinan is out, obviously, and we feel for him. We’ve really enjoyed him. And the fans have really taken to him. But he’s not going anywhere - he’s still here and he’ll do his rehab here."

With Villa said to be interested in offloading the striker in the summer, Norwich City had been credited with an interest amid a £5-10million transfer fee. Though according to Pink Un+, he is not a target for the Canaries this summer.

Smith's side look certain to be relegated from the Premier League this season.
