Nottingham Forest proving Gary Neville right as Jamie Carragher faith misplaced

Nottingham Forest have work to do during and after the international break if they are to prove Jamie Carragher's prediction that they will stay in the Premier League right.

Steve Steve Cooper's side currently side second-bottom in the league table after only picking up four points from their opening seven matches of the season. The Reds are in the midst of a four-match losing run after failing to pick up a single point against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Bournemouth and Fulham.

During just those quartet of matches, 14 goals have been conceded, including six away at the reigning Premier League champions. Forest are, though, proving Carragher's punditry partner Gary Neville correct so far.

Asked on the Overlap Podcast at the start of last month ahead of the season which, if any, of the newly promoted sides coming up from the Championship will stay there for another term, the pair had differing answers. Neville gave the nod to Fulham, who have started strongly on their return to the division and are currently occupying the lofty heights of sixth place.

Carragher chose Forest, who are two points adrift of Wolverhampton Wanderers in 17th place. Neville wasn't having any of it after his partner made his pick known, replying: “Bournemouth, I don’t think. Forest? No. I think Fulham."
