Nottingham Forest part of Chelsea transfer domino effect after bid 'rejected'

Nottingham Forest have had a bid "turned down" for Bournemouth winger Jaidon Anthony.

The 22 year-old broke into the Bournemouth team last summer as they earned promotion to the Premier League, scoring eight goals in 45 league games for the Cherries.

Anthony's Bournemouth contract expires next summer and, while the youngster is in talks over a new deal, there is still a chance he could leave the south coast before next week's transfer deadline. Forest is a potential destination, while Everton have identified him as a replacement for Chelsea-bound Anthony Gordon.

According to the Evening Standard, Forest have had a bid rejected for Anthony and face competition from "several other" Premier League clubs for his signature. Their Chelsea reporter, Nizaar Kinsella, tweeted: "Nottingham Forest already had a bid turned down for Anthony and there are several other PL clubs interested in taking advantage of the contract situation."

Speaking about the winger, Bournemouth boss Scott Parker revealed his hopes for the season ahead. “Jaidon, for sure, will have opportunities this year and hopefully he can take (to) the Premier League like he did last year," he told the Bournemouth Echo.

“He is in probably a similar position in what he was last year in terms of the step up and how he can be. He is now in that position again with the transition of Championship to Prem. Hopefully he can do that.”
