Forest duo 'sacked' after summer review
Nottingham Forest have sacked head of recruitment George Syrianos and head scout Andy Scott, according to reports.
The Reds brought in 21 new players in the summer transfer window following promotion to the Premier League in May, with Serge Aurier become signing number 22 when he arrived on a free transfer shortly afterwards. Almost £150 million was spent in transfer fees, with the club's transfer record broken on two occasions to secure the services of Taiwo Awoniyi and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Steve Cooper has struggled to bed in all the new faces into his squad, with Forest currently stuck in the bottom three. The Reds have picked up just one point in their previous six games and have suffered heavy defeats to Manchester City and Leicester City.
Southampton fixture in doubt
Nottingham Forest's Premier League fixture at home to Southampton is in doubt after it was confirmed that the Coronation of King Charles III will take place on the same day - Saturday 6 May.
A statement on the Royal website read: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May, 2023."

Stuart Pearce 'astounded' by Jesse Lingard
Former Nottingham Forest player and manager Stuart Pearce has admitted that he is still ‘astounded’ by Jesse Lingard’s decision to sign for Forest over West Ham.
The former Manchester United man joined Forest on a free transfer in the summer window with the Reds beating off competition from a number of clubs. Lingard was widely tipped to return to West Ham after a successful loan spell at the club in 2021.
The player however opted to join Steve Cooper’s side after their promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season. He has played seven of the nine league games so far this season but was an unused substitute in Monday night’s 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.
Neil Warnock slams Forest decision against Aston Villa
Former manager Neil Warnock has slammed the decision not to award a penalty to Aston Villa in ‘one of the worst’ games he’s watched.
Nottingham Forest stopped a run of five straight Premier League defeats as a first half goal from Emmanuel Dennis gave them a lead. It was a lead that lasted just seven minutes though, with Ashley Young levelling the scores at 1-1.
That is how the game finished after 90 minutes, with the point lifting the Reds back off the bottom of the table. It means that they also bounced back from a disappointing 4-0 defeat against Leicester City in the previous game.
