Nottingham Forest outcast wins league title as Reds transfer looms

Carl Jenkinson's career at Nottingham Forest may not have hit the heights he expected, but he's still ended the season with a league title under his belt.

The Reds right-back is currently on loan at Melbourne City and helped them become champions for the second successive season with a win over A-League rivals Wellington Phoenix.

Jenkinson is now set to return to the Reds, but the chances of him salvaging his career at the City Ground are slim after Cooper granted him a move away from the club in January.

He is out of contract in the summer and doubts remain as to whether he will be handed a new deal despite his impressive form in Australia.

But the move Down Under has done him the power of good having made 25 appearances for Melbourne City with five of those coming in the AFC Champions League.

Should he depart the City Ground in the summer he will do so having made just 15 appearances since his arrival in the summer of 2019.

His last appearance in a red shirt came against Swansea, who ironically, were managed by current Reds boss Cooper. The Swans ran out 5-1 winners on the day as they progressed in the FA Cup.

Should Forest keep Jenkinson after his form in Australia? Let us know in the comments section.
