Nottingham Forest have named the 20-man squad that will take on Notts County in their penultimate pre-season friendly of the summer.
There is still no room for summer signing Jesse Lingard so soon after signing on a free transfer from Manchester United after the 29-year-old also didn't feature in the German capital against Union Berlin over the weekend. This weekend's welcoming of Valencia to the City Ground is now the latest opportunity for the midfielder to feature ahead of the Premier League season starting.
Head coach Steve Cooper has been boosted by the return of two key figures to the team. Striker Sam Surridge returns for the first time this summer after successfully recuperating from groin surgery after going under the knife just hours after the Championship play-off final in May.

Ryan Yates has also returned ahead of schedule to bolster the midfield ranks. The 24-year-old strained a knee ligament while training with the Reds in Spain earlier this summer and has thus only featured for 45 minutes against Coventry City during pre-season.
In what is a youthful-looking squad set to take on their National League neighbours, Giulian Biancone is the only summer signing set to feature. Senior squad members Cafu, Lyle Taylor, Richie Laryea, Loic Mbe Soh, Alex Mighten and Braian Ojeda are all also available to be involved.
Here is the 20-man squad in full to face the Magpies...
Abbott, Biancone, Cafu, D Taylor, Donnelly, Fewster, Hammond, Hanks, Hogarth, Konate, L Taylor, Larsson, Laryea, Mbe Soh, Mighten, Ojeda, Shelvey, Smith, Surridge, Yates.
