Nottingham Forest 'monitoring' forgotten Man United man

Nottingham Forest are monitoring Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek's situation amid a potential summer departure, it is reported.

That's according to 90min who claim that the Dutchman's representatives have been "in discussions" with a number of clubs. The 26-year-old played just seven times last season before suffering a knee injury in January that ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

Aside from that, Van de Beek has struggled to cement a regular place in the team since joining from Ajax in 2020.

Van de Beek is understood to have a number of Serie A clubs interested in his signature. Inter Milan, Roma and AC Milan are said to have all "made their own enquiries".

However, it is thought he is not a "first choice target" for any of the three teams. Along with Forest, Wolves and Crystal Palace are also reportedly monitoring Van de Beek's situation.

Elsewhere, Sevilla and Nice reportedly hold an interest, while Brendan Rodgers' Celtic are also reportedly keen. A return to his former club Ajax has not been ruled out, while rivals Feyenoord would also reportedly be open to signing him "on the right terms".

United, meanwhile, would reportedly prefer to cash in on the player but the possibility of a loan is said to be "more likely" as it stands.
