Nottingham Forest could have signed Tottenham's new goalkeeper Gugliemo Vicario in January, it has been claimed.
That's according to Vicario's father Michele who revealed Forest showed an interest in the 26-year-old in the winter transfer window. The Reds were in the market to sign a replacement to Dean Henderson after he suffered a thigh injury.
Henderson suffered the setback in Forest's 2-0 win over Leicester City in mid-January. In the end, Steve Cooper's attention turned to Paris Saint-Germain's Keylor Navas who joined on loan for the remainder of last season.

Vicario meanwhile, could have made the switch to the Premier League sooner. However, Empoli stopped a transfer from materialising.
"In January, two other English clubs had come forward, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest but Empoli wanted to postpone everything until the summer," Vicario's father told Italian publication Messaggero Veneto (via Football Italia).
The shot-stopper made the switch to Spurs for £16.3million and is expected to replace Hugo Lloris who will depart the club after 11 years. Vicario Sr added: "A week ago, he had a video call with his new coach, Ange Postecoglou.
"They spoke in English and the coach told him that he had chosen him because Guglielmo worked his way up just like him. The coach was then impressed to see that the boy already knows English."
