Nottingham Forest medical set to take place in Athens as transfer 'now completed'

Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to fly Orel Mangala out to Athens for a medical this afternoon (Tuesday) ahead of completing a transfer to the club.

Reports that an agreement had been reached between the Reds and Stuttgart emerged on Monday afternoon, and the midfielder now looks set to take the next step towards making a move by heading out to the Greek capital on Tuesday. A transfer fee of around £12.75 million is apparently set.

The 24-year-old is being recruited by Forest's head of data and analytic recruitment George Syrianos for the second time after playing a part in bringing Mangala to Germany in the first place from Anderlecht back in 2017 while still Stuttgart's head of analytics.

A reunion at the City Ground looks set to take a significant step forward. Belgium-based journalist Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that the medical is set for today in Athens rather than the United Kingdom and also adds that the player "will fly to London" this evening before heading to Forest's headquarters.

Fabrizio Romano also said this morning that the deal is 'now completed', as first reported by Sky Sport's Florian Plettenberg and Dennis Bayer. The transfer expert also adds additional details about the transfer, including revealing that there are £3/4 million worth of add-ons in addition to the £12.75 guaranteed fee and also a 12/14% sell-on clause included in the deal.
