Nottingham Forest transfer target Taiwo Awoniyi has been booked in for a medical later this week ahead of completing his transfer to the City Ground, NottinghamshireLive understands.
Awoniyi, 24, has been at Union Berlin since September 2020 when he joined from Liverpool, originally on loan before having his temporary move turned permanent last summer for £6.5 million.
The talented forward has won the attention of Steve Cooper and his recruitment staff after netting 25 goals in 65 games for the German outfit.

NottinghamshireLive understands Awoniyi, who has a release clause of €20m (£17.5m), is to travel to England tomorrow morning (June 23) ahead of a medical on either Thursday or Friday (June 24) as his City Ground transfer moves even closer to completion.
The Nigerian striker said goodbye to his teammates today (June 22) at the Bundesliga side's training ground ahead of his trip to the Midlands.
