The latest Nottingham Forest headlines on Thursday, March 30.
Reds legend hails 'masterstroke'
Former Nottingham Forest manager and player Stuart Pearce has backed Steve Cooper to guide the Reds to Premier League safety this season.
Forest are playing Premier League football for the first time in more than two decades this season after Steve Cooper masterminded a revival which saw them rise from the bottom of the Championship to a triumphant return to English football's top flight through the play-offs.
But the Reds have a battle on their hands if they are to avoid going straight back down. Forest currently sit 16th in the Premier League and are just two points off the bottom three.
Run-in compared
It’s crunch time for Nottingham Forest’s survival hopes as the Premier League prepares to restart following the final international break of the season.
The Reds are two points above the relegation zone with 11 games to play, starting at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. But it is incredibly tight at that end of the table.
Four points separate the bottom nine clubs, leaving all to play for over the next couple of months. We take a look at the remaining league games for those teams battling to avoid the drop.
Double injury boost
Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Julen Lopetegui is set to welcome some players back ahead of the Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest this weekend.
The Reds will return to action on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, prior to the international break. Steve Cooper's side are winless in their past six league games, with their last victory dating back to early February against Leeds United.
Wolves are in a similar position, having won just one of their previous five matches. An interesting affair awaits between the sides with only one point separating them in the table, in what is becoming an extremely tight relegation battle.
Major transfer update
On-loan Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been linked with a summer transfer as two unnamed clubs have reportedly been in touch with parent club Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has impressed for the Reds during their return to the Premier League but hasn't played since picking up an injury against Leicester in January. Forest responded to Henderson's injury by signing former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas on loan until the end of the season.
But with Forest's top-flight status for next season in jeopardy, it appears unlikely that the Red Devils keeper will remain at the City Ground beyond the summer.
