Your Nottingham Forest digest for Friday, November 26.

'Awful' moment

Nottingham Forest 's Hwang Ui-jo was on the end of criticism from BBC co-commentator Danny Murphy for an ‘awful’ moment against Uruguay.

The forward, who is currently on loan at Olympiacos, is representing South Korea in the tournament in Qatar. The 30-year-old was named in the starting line-up for their Group H opener vs Uruguay on Thursday afternoon.

Hwang had arguably one of the best chances to put South Korea 1-0 up in the first half as he found himself in on goal in the middle of the box. However, the Forest man could only blaze over the bar as he tried to find the top corner.

Bale responds

Wales captain Gareth Bale has admitted that the red card shown to Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey ‘changed the game’ against Iran as Wales stare at a possible World Cup exit.

After a draw against the USA in their first game, Wales went into the game against Iran knowing that a win would be crucial for their hopes of reaching the knockout stages. But the nation will now have to win against England if that is to be possible.

Hennessey was shown a straight red for a challenge on Mehdi Taremi in the closing stages of the game. The original yellow shown by the referee was overturned upon a VAR review.

Brennan demand

Both Nottingham Forest and Wales fans were calling for the introduction of Brennan Johnson in Wales’ crucial World Cup group game against Iran.

Rob Page’s side are looking for what would be a crucial win in their second group game of the tournament following a 1-1 draw with the USA in the first game. For both games, Johnson has been named on the bench.

The Forest academy graduate earned his 16th cap for his country by coming on as a second-half substitute in the game vs the USA, where he showed what he can do. He will also have to earn his 17th cap from the bench should he wish to feature against Iran.
