Nottingham Forest Make Loan Enquiry Over Douglas Luiz

Nottingham Forest have reportedly enquired about a loan deal for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz – just over six months since his switch from Aston Villa.

Nottingham Forest Interested In Douglas Luiz

Juventus spent £42m in the summer transfer window to bring Douglas Luiz over from Aston Villa.

The Brazilian was a regular fixture at Villa Park for five seasons making 202 appearances.

He made the switch to the Serie A club in June 2024, joining his girlfriend Alisha Lehmann who plays for their women’s side.

Things haven’t worked at Juventus where he has made just two starts in 13 appearances.

The Daily Mail report that Luiz has been offered to a number of English clubs. That list includes Manchester United, Man City and Fulham.

Though top-four chasing Nottingham Forest are the club who have made an enquiry over a loan move for Douglas Luiz.

Luiz would offer depth to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to improve their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

They are currently third – five points ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle.

Luiz’s Struggles At Juventus

Nottingham Forest target Douglas Luiz has struggled to cement a spot in Thiago Motta’s starting line-up at Juventus.

Reports in Italy have suggested he could be allowed to leave this month to clear up space for new arrivals.

It’s claimed his physical levels were lacking when he joined up with Juventus late into their pre-season.

Then after a slow start to the season, he suffered an injury in October which ruled him out for two months.

Should he leave Juventus he would leave behind his girlfriend Lehmann.

Lehmann, unlike Luiz, has settled in quickly at Juventus. She was among the goals in a 5-0 friendly victory over Marseille earlier this week.

The couple met during their time at Aston Villa and both left for Juventus in the same summer transfer window.
