Nottingham Forest live Q&A - January transfers, Scarpa, Southampton clash

Nottingham Forest got the new year off to a positive start as they came from behind to draw against Chelsea on Sunday.

And the Reds will be determined to build on that when they head to Southampton on Wednesday night for a crunch clash with the Premier League ’s bottom-placed side. With the January transfer window now open, it makes for a big month ahead at the City Ground.

It means there is plenty to talk about in our weekly live Forest webchat. Reds reporter Sarah Clapson will be in the hot seat from noon, answering questions and responding to comments.

Steve Cooper’s side put in an impressive second half performance against the Blues and earned a point courtesy of Serge Aurier’s first goal in the Garibaldi. They could well have taken all three, though.

They are now level on points with 17th-placed West Ham United, in the relegation zone due to their inferior goal difference. It makes the midweek trip to the south coast all the more important.

January signing Gustavo Scarpa is available to face the Saints, but should he come straight into the starting XI? Should Cooper consider making any other changes to his line-up? How are you feeling about Wednesday’s match?

And with the window open, what business should the Reds look to do this month? The Forest boss has already said injuries will come into the club’s thinking, but which areas would you like to see strengthened? Who should be looking to move on?

You can have your say on the above topics and any others which spring to mind in our live Q&A. Submit any questions or comments in the comments section below.

Feel free to get them in early. You can then join the debate when Sarah’s webchat goes live at 12pm.
