Nottingham Forest issue crucial message to fans ahead of Leicester City clash

Nottingham Forest have issued a strong message to supporters ahead of their FA Cup clash against Leicester City by reminding them to act responsibly.

In a lengthy statement by the club's chairman, Nicholas Randall QC, he says there has been concern across football over the use of pyrotechnics as well as pitch incursions by a "small minority".

Randall wrote: "Everybody at Nottingham Forest has been truly humbled by your incredible support this season.

"The atmosphere at The City Ground has been spectacular and the away support has been inspirational. I know how much this means to everyone at the Club and the manager and players in particular. We truly thank you for this.

"It is also important that we all act in a way which protects our fellow supporters and which does not expose the Club and players to unnecessary risks.

"Across football there has been concern at the behaviour of a small minority of supporters who through their actions are causing substantial risks to themselves and others as well as risking serious sanctions on both the Club and themselves.

"On behalf of everyone at the Club I appeal to this small minority to please refrain from incursions on the field of play and the use of pyrotechnics in the stadium.

"The Club has put together a short message below which sets out the risks and the consequences of this behaviour which damages us all.

"Please come and support your Club in a way which is responsible to your fellow supporters and respect the rules in the stadium which are designed to protect us all.

"Everybody at Nottingham Forest aspires to play Premier League football. We hope that the big matches we have enjoyed recently will become the norm. We urge you to behave responsibly and in a way which respects your magnificent football Club and which keeps your fellow supporters safe."
