Nottingham Forest injury update prompts ‘terrible’ response

Nottingham Forest fans have given their reaction to the news that Scott McKenna has become the latest name added to the injury list.

The central defender was forced off in the first half of Saturday’s 3-2 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield after falling awkwardly. It was just his second game back in the team after missing seven games with a hamstring injury.

It has now been confirmed that the 26-year-old will miss the remaining six games of the season with a broken collarbone. Forest are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Brighton and Hove Albion at the City Ground.

“It’s not great news, unfortunately. He’s fractured his collarbone, so that’s him done for the season,” Steve Cooper said in his pre-match press conference .

“It’s a blow. A real blow for him, having just returned back from a hamstring injury and worked so hard to get back.

“He’s a great professional, who always gives his best in everything he does. For him to suffer the bad luck he has done with this injury is really unfortunate.”

The injury leaves Forest with just Joe Worrall, Felipe and Moussa Niakhate as centre-back options for the clash vs Brighton.

Following the news, Forest fans took to social media to give their reaction, with many bemoaning the club’s luck with injuries so far this season. Here’s what just some had to say.

Charlotte Reynolds : This is a big blow

CB : That’s a huge wounder #nffc

Get well soon Scott!!

Ben Marshall : How the hell have we had so many injuries this season. Incredibly bad luck.

Lee Clarke : Devastated for Scott McKenna. He's not perfect at this level by any means but of all the promoted players, he's at least shown signs of improvement over the course of the season. Will be a big player once again for us next season. #NFFC

Mike…nffc : Our luck is terrible #nffc
