Nottingham Forest injury update as striker sparks transfer alert

Good morning, Reds fans. Here's a round-up of the latest Nottingham Forest headlines.

Senegal coach provides Cheikhou Kouyate injury update ahead of England World Cup clash

Nottingham Forest midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté "could be out" of Senegal's World Cup last 16 tie against England on Sunday evening.

The 32-year-old was stretchered off during Senegal's opening group game against the Netherlands on November 21 and has not featured for his country at the tournament since.

They are now preparing to face England in the round of 16 but could be without Kouyaté, who has not trained this week ahead of the match. It is unclear whether he will be able to return for Forest when domestic football gets back under way later this month.

Nottingham Forest on transfer red alert over goal machine after agent comments

Nottingham Forest transfer target Artem Dovbyk's agent Alexey Lundovsky has claimed that the centre-forward "would like to play in England" after confirming interest from the country in his client.

The Ukraine international has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season on the back of a summer of significant interest in the player. Dovbyk, 25, was linked with moves to the likes of Burnley and Brentford as well as the Reds, who Lundovsky claimed were to be in negotiations with Dnipro-1 over the player.

There was also apparently overseas interest in Italy from Bologna and Torino. Lundovsky has name-checked England and Italy as the two destinations of interest for Dovbyk.

Nottingham Forest and Tottenham in transfer battle for World Cup star preparing for Spain

Nottingham Forest are reportedly one of several sides across Europe with an interest in Morocco international Walid Cheddira.

The centre-forward has remained an unused substitute in each of the Atlas Lions' three games en route to finishing ahead of Belgium and Croatia atop Group F to tee up a round of 16 tie against Spain. He did, though, feature twice as a second-half substitute in a pair of pre-tournament friendlies against South American sides Chile and Paraguay to debut for the national team back in September.

Born in Italy to Moroccan parents, Cheddira, 24, plays for Bari in Serie B - the Italian second division - and is currently the top goalscorer at that level after nine goals in 12 appearances before joining up with the national team, remaining three goals clear of the nearest challenger despite the league continuing in his absence. The striker has also assisted a further four goals for teammates, a tally only bettered by two other players in the second tier.

Nottingham Forest dealt transfer blow as Newcastle ace breaks silence on future

Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'keen' on re-signing academy graduate Jamaal Lascelles - but the Newcastle United captain is similarly keen to stay and fight for his position at the club.

Lascelles left the City Ground for good in 2015 after initially being loaned back to the Reds, alongside Karl Darlow, for the following season after signing for Newcastle the previous summer. The 29-year-old has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the North East side over the last eight seasons, but just six of those have come this season.

Since starting the fifth match of the Premier League season against Liverpool at Anfield, the Derby-born defender has only featured three more times as a late substitute in the league, as well as two further appearances from the off in the second and third rounds of the Carabao Cup. Lascelles was not even named in the matchday squad when Forest visited St James' Park on the opening weekend of the season.
