Forest join Spurs and Newcastle in transfer hunt
Nottingham Forest have arguably been the busiest Premier League club in the transfer market since winning promotion in May, and now they are being linked with a player who could be their biggest statement signing to date.
AS Roma’s Nicolò Zaniolo was the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, and Antonio Conte’s struggling side are reportedly back in for the Italian this month, but they are said to have company in the ambitious Reds, according to a report from Get Italian Football News.

Lowdown on Danilo
Danilo dos Santos de Oliveira, more commonly known as Danilo, is a name that has become familiar to many fans in recent weeks with the young Brazilian attracting attention from the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal. However, it is Nottingham Forest who have seemingly won the race for the talented midfielder.
Forest have reached an agreement with Palmeiras for the 21-year-old, with the deal reported to be worth £18 million plus add ons. The transfer would make Danilo the Reds' second signing of the winter window and the club's 24th since promotion from the Championship last May.
Cooper explains Forest 'obsession'
Head coach Steve Cooper has warned his players there can be no room for complacency after Nottingham Forest climbed to 13th in the Premier League table.
The Reds are five points above the relegation zone after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Leicester City, with half of the season gone. But Cooper wants his side to be “obsessed” with improving.
"We've made some positive steps of late. But we have got to be absolutely paranoid and obsessed with improvement every single day - on and off the pitch," he said.
Brennan Johnson prediction made
Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper is “excited” about how much more there is to come from Brennan Johnson.
And he revealed how he “had a bit of a go” at the Wales international at half-time of the Reds’ 2-0 win over Leicester City - with the result being a brace for Johnson after the break. It took the 21-year-old’s tally for the season up to six in all competitions, and lifted Forest to 13th in the table.
Johnson’s link-up with Morgan Gibbs-White proved particularly difficult for the Foxes to handle. The pair combined for both goals and were at the heart of an impressive second half from the hosts.
