Nottingham Forest in three-way transfer battle for £22m player

Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'targeting' Shaktar Donetsk winger Tete as Steve Cooper looks to bring in new additions to his squad this month.

The 22-year-old has spent the last six months on loan at Lyon following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He has so far enjoyed a fine campaign, making nine-goal contributions in 15 outings for the Ligue 1 side.

But Forest are not the only club that the Brazilian has caught the eye of, with Everton and Wolves also being credited with an interest. According to talkSPORT, the winger is 'open to a January move' to the Premier League.

Despite the Reds making 22 signings in the summer, Cooper and co are determined to stay in the top-flight division beyond this season. Cooper previously addressed Forest's aim to bring in new additions, he said: "We will need to, and want to, for sure.

"I’m not sure if anything is imminent if I’m being honest. If there’s something we think can improve us and the club want to do it, and we all want to do it, then great. I think that will be a real positive.

"Every time I get asked about the transfer window, I think about everyone’s thoughts of, 'here Forest go again, signing loads of players. But this transfer window is completely different to the last one. The context is different, we have to treat it for what it is, and our present situation. If we think something is right, we’ll do it."
