Nottingham Forest in surprise Leicester City transfer link for £17m player

Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'eyeing' Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumare's for a potential transfer.

The 23 year-old is surplus to requirements at City despite being under contract until 2026. Soumare, who made the switch to the King Power Stadium from Lille last summer, made just 19 appearances last season.

The Frenchman is attracting interest this summer and appeared to be closing in on a move to Monaco before the new season started. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are also said to be making a late bid to try and secure his signature.

As well as the Reds, Palace have been after Soumare for a while. According to Foot Mercato, the Eagles are 'returning' for the midfielder, with City boss Brendan Rodgers reportedly making clear that the club will only look to sell the player and not loan him out.

Forest, on the other hand, have 'an eye on his situation', as well as Roma who are on the lookout for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum following his recent injury.

Should Forest try to sign Soumare this summer? Let us know in the comment section...
