Nottingham Forest are interested in signing West Ham United left-back Emmanuel Longelo, according to reports.
Longelo has predominantly featured for the Hammers' under-23 team but made his first senior appearance last season in the Carabao Cup win over Hull City.
This season, he was handed his full first-team debut in the Europa League, playing 90 minutes in the final group stage game against Dinamo Zagreb.
He has found further first-team opportunities hard to come by, though, sparking talk of a transfer before the January window closes on Monday.
According to the Evening Standard, interest from Championship and League One has emerged.
It is understood that the 21-year-old has the option of either a loan spell for the rest of the season or a permanent move to the division below.
Forest are said to have shown an interest in the player and have reportedly held talks over a possible deal this month.
Reds boss Steve Cooper has not ruled out a "lively" end to the transfer window.
Asked if he anticipates some deals potentially going to the wire, Cooper said: “Who knows? Anything can happen - not just with us, but with any club.
“It does seem to get a little bit lively in the last few days. Sometimes I don’t know why, because you try to get things done as quickly as you can.
“Throughout the window, you’re still playing games, you’re still winning or not picking up points, and you might pick up some injuries, so some things might get forced on you.
“There’s lots of things that could happen here. There’s lots of things that could happen at every other club as well.
“All we need to know is that we definitely had a plan going into the window, and we’ll stick to the plan.
“If something random turns up in the meantime, then we’ll have to cross bridges as they come and see where we are when the window closes.
“But I’m only focused on the guys who are here every single day, because they really are training well, the attitude is good and the confidence is good. They get my full attention.”
