Nottingham Forest hero Djed Spence takes drastic step amid Tottenham struggles

Former Nottingham Forest loanee Djed Spence has taken the drastic step of removing all but one post on his Instagram account and all references to his current club Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old has made just four substitute appearances for Spurs since making the summer move from Middlesbrough after spending last season with the Reds. Half of those outings under Antonio Conte have, coincidently, come back at the City Ground in the late August meeting for their Premier League clash, followed by the Carabao Cup third round tie earlier this month.

Before that cup clash, Spence also featured for the final few minutes against Everton and Manchester United in October. The right-back has also received another cap for England 's under-21s in that time against Italy in September, and representing the Young Lions is what the player's only remaining post is about.

The caption on that post from mid-June reads: "Season officially over and qualifications for the Euros. Time to rest and recover. See you all next season." Spence did not sign for Tottenham until another month after that date, and his verified account on the social media platform now also has a plain black display photo and features an empty bio.
