Nottingham Forest have 'greater chance' of completing Aston Villa transfer

Nottingham Forest have a "greater chance" of signing Keinan Davis than other clubs interested in the Aston Villa striker, it has been claimed.

The striker was on loan at Forest last season and scored five goals in 18 league games after arriving on New Year's Day. He played a key roll as Forest earned promotion back to the Premier League through the play-offs, though his future is now a little uncertain.

According to The Athletic, Watford "hold an interest" in signing Davis but Forest "have a greater chance" of completing a deal. Reports have suggested Villa could be asking for as much as £15m, although it is likely the clubs will find a compromise lower figure.

Davis may well get a chance to impress at Aston Villa this pre-season before his future is decided, even though he faces a challenge in breaking into the first team ahead of Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins.

The striker was part of the Villa side that won promotion in 2019 and made the League Cup final the following year. However, his five Forest goals blow his Villa record out of the water. He has scored seven goals in 87 games for his parent club.

It remains to be seen how well Davis will be able to make the step up to the Premier League, but if there is any club he would feel settled in doing so with - it will certainly be Forest.
