Foxes injury list
Nottingham Forest will be back in action at the City Ground when they take on local rivals Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday (4pm kick-off).
The Reds overcame Premier League opposition Arsenal last time out to set up a tie with current holders Leicester.
The Foxes will look to continue their defence of the trophy they won for the first time last season, having seen off Watford in the previous round.
With that in mind, NottinghamshireLive brings you the latest from the treatment room at the King Power Stadium as per LeicestershireLive...
Fines all round
Nottingham Forest and Derby County have been charged by the Football Association.
The charge comes after the East Midlands derby that saw skirmishes break out between players after referee Tim Robinson had blown the final whistle at the City Ground.
A statement released today (Thursday) by the FA read:
"Nottingham Forest FC and Derby County FC have been fined £10,000 each for two breaches of FA Rule E20.1 that occurred during their EFL Championship game on 22 January 2022.
"Both clubs admitted that they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 96th minute and following the final whistle."
Not so Keane
Nottingham Forest great Roy Keane is being tipped for a return to Sunderland as they search for a new manager - but former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has voiced doubts about the appointment if it should happen.
Lee Johnson was sacked by the Black Cats following a 6-0 humiliation at Bolton Wanderers last weekend and former Forest midfielder and assistant manager Keane has emerged as a potential replacement.
The 50-year-old began his managerial career at Stadium of Light in 2006, guiding the club from Championship relegation back into the Premier League in his two years at the club.
Since leaving his role as Forest's assistant manager in 2019, Keane has established himself as a media pundit.
Sunderland chairman Kyril Louis-Drefus is said to be keen on targeting the Republic of Ireland legend for a return to Wearside.
Gary's jibe
Former Leicester City striker and Match Of The Day presenter Gary Lineker couldn’t resist a cheeky jibe at Nottingham Forest ahead of the two sides’ meeting in the FA Cup this weekend.
Forest host Leicester at the City Ground on Sunday in the fourth round of the world’s oldest football competition, but Lineker won’t be there - he has returned a positive Covid test this week after falling ill on his return from South Africa.
So Lineker will be watching like many Forest and Foxes supporters who aren’t attending themselves, but after he broke the news of his feeling under the weather, he was teed up for a dig at Forest by fellow ex-England international and BBC pundit Alan Shearer.
