The door might have been opened for Nottingham Forest to reignite their interest in promising midfielder Yunus Musah in January.
The Valencia youngster is said to be keen on a new challenge. And his club are reportedly prepared to listen to offers, which might be of interest to the Reds ahead of the window reopening.
Musah was said to be on Forest’s radar in the summer as they prepared for life in the Premier League. Reports in Spain suggested they had a £25m offer for the midfielder turned down.

According to The Athletic, Valencia are now willing to consider bids for the United States international, amid hope his impressive form at the World Cup “might stimulate the market for him”. That has led to unnamed Premier League clubs exploring a possible move, with a price tag upwards of 20m euros (roughly £17m) being touted.
Musah made the move to Spain in 2019, having come up through the ranks at Arsenal’s academy. His contract runs until 2026, but it is said he is keen on “experiencing a new challenge”.
The 20-year-old showed his potential on the big stage for the US in Qatar. He started all four of their games at the tournament, with their run ended by the Netherlands at the knockout stage after they finished runners-up to England in Group B.
Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus were also linked with the player in the summer. By coincidence, Forest head to Spain to play Valencia on Friday in their final friendly before the season resumes.
Musah already knows Reds head coach Steve Cooper. Before pledging allegiance to the US, he represented England at youth level and played for the Under-17s when Cooper was in charge.
