Nottingham Forest are now considered the favourites to sign Wales international Aaron Ramsey after the midfielder's Juventus contract was 'mutually terminated'.
The 31-year-old was finally confirmed to be a free agent this summer by the Italian giants via social media Wednesday evening, but there remains no mention on their official website. An exit had been inevitable in recent weeks, though, after being left out of the squad that toured the United States during pre-season and not even being given a squad number ahead of the Serie A season.
Forest are a club being suggested as an option for Ramsey to return to England. That would, of course, also be a return to the City Ground after spending just over a month there on loan while still an Arsenal player.

Our colleagues at Wales Online understand that Ramsey is keen on a return to the Premier League ahead of the World Cup later this year. They add that a return to hometown club Cardiff City in the Championship, which had previously been considered favourites with the bookies, has always been heavily played down by sources.
Reflecting that, Cardiff's odds have dropped to 12/1, with Forest now favourites with SkyBet at 1/3 on. Following in the footsteps of international teammate Gareth Bale with a move to Major League Soccer is also priced as a possibility at 5/1.
