Nottingham Forest fans reveal favourite Stuart Pearce memories as legend celebrates birthday

Nottingham Forest fans have been sharing their favourite memories of watching Stuart Pearce as the Reds legend celebrates his 57th birthday.

Pearce, who is arguably the club's best ever player, forged a fearsome reputation for his bone crunching tackles at left-back.

Couple that with thunderous free-kicks and recovering from his World Cup penalty miss in 1990 and Pearce is not only one of Forest's all-time greats, but one of the very best to play for England as he represented his country 78 times.

Fans have telling us their favourite moments watching the former Reds player and manager on our Facebook page and you can read the best below.

Simon Allin: Watching him clatter Pat Nevin, or any other tiny right winger, into the second tier of the BC stand in the first five minutes of a game! Legend!

Lee Tilston: Legend. Was it season 1991/92 he scored SIXTEEN goals from left-back and no penalties that season!! Quality.

Stuart Pearce back at Nottingham Forest's City Ground for live and unscripted Q&A

Highlights...probably his penalty for England against Spain and the release of six years of hurt at Euro 96 or his brilliant FA Cup final free-kick in 1991.

Mick Allen: That left foot BOOM .

Antony Sissons: When he used to run over and give that salute to the Trent End just before the game.

Robert Norton: Every goal, every full-blooded tackle. I remember him taking out an electrician advert in the Forest programme and thinking that Cloughie must not like him enough to pay him much!

Kev Booth : Too many to mention but one that came straight to mind, his goal at Peterborough, we were shocking and looked like getting nothing from the game till he dove in with his head amongst flying boots and made it 2-2. Then Stan (Collymore) did what Stan did all year.
