Nottingham Forest fans pile in as fresh Keylor Navas transfer claims emerge

Nottingham Forest supporters are conflicted over whether the club should push the button on a move for Keylor Navas.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Forest now have concrete interest in the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper and the French champions are set to decide on whether to loan him out. Navas is currently playing second fiddle to Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has been PSG’s number one this term after rotating for much of last season.

However, reports this morning from the Independent indicate Forest are set to cool their interest in Navas after receiving positive news on Dean Henderson’s injury. Steve Cooper revealed last week that the club have been toying with the idea of bringing in a new shot-stopper before Tuesday’s deadline.

However, Henderson is now reportedly set to miss just one more league games (next weekend’s clash with Leeds United), before making his return on February 11 against Fulham. Here is what Forest fans have been saying on the club’s ongoing goalkeeper saga.

@hannahforest: “Now they are saying Henderson could miss just one more league game.

@Jonny90nffc: “A loan [for Navas] would make more sense than a permanent, then hopefully sign Henderson permanently in the summer.”

@Jonny90nffc: “Hendo to be back for Fulham. Will miss the Leeds game, that’s it. Absolutely no point in signing a goalkeeper now for me.”

@DNOnMAZ9: “No point signing a very expensive goalkeeper who is going to want to be no.1 in Navas if Hendo only going to miss one more league game. Would end up causing more issues than being any benefit.”

@BigDan_K: “We need to sign a GK regardless because if he gets injured again, Hennessey and JS isn’t enough and may cost us like it did in the semi-final.”

@MatthewBird1: “Where’s the logic? Some of our transfer dealings worry me. We need to consolidate now to stay in the league.”
