Nottingham Forest fans pile in after Liverpool agree 'record' transfer

Nottingham Forest supporters have made clear that they always remained realistic about the club's interest in Netherlands international Cody Gakpo.

Gakpo, 23, was on the Reds' long list of potential transfers, with it being reported that Forest would sign the forward for a fee rising to around £35m before the end of the summer window. Arsenal, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Southampton were all also credited with an interest, but Liverpool have now 'reached an agreement' with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven over a 'record transfer' after impressing at the World Cup.

Forest fans never really envisioned the club winning this particular race. Here is a selection of the reaction from our Nottingham Forest News page on Facebook.
