Nottingham Forest fans make Djed Spence point as Middlesbrough dealt Huddersfield blow

Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social media to give their reaction after Middlesbrough were beaten by Huddersfield Town.

Boro fell to a 2-0 home defeat at the Riverside Stadium as their Championship play-off hopes were dealt a blow. Chris Wilder's men drew against Bournemouth last time out and were looking to strengthen their position but Huddersfield maintained their good run.

The Terriers are now unbeaten in their last four league games, sitting third in the Championship, after an impressive campaign. As it stands, Huddersfield would face sixth-placed Sheffield United in the play-offs, while Forest would take on Luton Town in fourth. Of course, things could still change.

The Reds are in action against West Bromwich Albion later (8pm kick-off) as they bid to cement their top-six spot. Here is what some fans had to say after the Boro game...

Warren Allsworth: "Boro losing gives us a great chance to go along way to securing that play off berth with a win tonight. Have to give Huddersfield credit. What they are doing is remarkable."

Ollie Barnes: "It's now only 8 points needed from 6 games."

Rob: "One less team chasing us for a play-off place. Let's be honest, that's our likely target. 2nd place is far too much to expect considering where we've come from. I'm still nervous about getting a play-off place!"

Forest Forever: "Stops Boro potentially making the playoffs so we don’t lose (Djed) Spence if we had to play them & it puts added pressure on Bournemouth that could hopefully leave the door open for Forest to make an outside push for automatics if they slip up."

James Prentice: "As it stands - a win for NFFC today could put us in a very strong position re play offs."

Dave Mitchell: "Cheering on the Huddersfield today. We will still overtake them if we win our games in hand and have a far superior goal difference over them! If Boro don't make the playoffs, we should get to keep Spence for them! (Every cloud)."

Lewis Dry: "Middlesbrough not making the play offs would be great. We struggle without Spence."

Retired Red: "Doesn't look like Boro are making the play offs. Spence is safe."

Jacob: "I'd definitely rather play Huddersfield than Boro, but watch Huddersfield beat us in the final, now I've said this."

CityGroundShelf: "We're absolutely delighted with that result. Thank you!"

Perry: "Cheers lads, great result!"
