Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to the news that a takeover of arch rivals Derby County has been completed.
The Rams had been in administration for the last eight months, with a 21-point deduction leading to them being relegated to League One at the end of the season. The club’s administrators have been working on a deal to save the club since September last year.
A deal looked to be nearing completion with American businessman Chris Kirchner, but the search restarted again after that fell through last month. Derby have now confirmed that local property developer and Rams fan David Cowles has become the new owner of the club.

The deal means that Derby have exited administration with more certainty over their future. The club will now prepare for life in League One while Forest prepare for life back in the Premier League for the first time in over two decades.
Following the news coming out of Pride Park, Forest fans took to social media to give their reaction, with most happy that the future of their bitter rivals has been ensured. Here’s what they had to say...
CaryDeWeigh : This #NFFC fan is glad. Let’s hope we get drawn together in the cup.
Krazy Keith : Pleased #dcfc takeover done. Long term I'd love for them to battle it out with #nffc in the prem. But feel free to have 4-5 seasons in league one first.
Lisa Pitt : Finally! Back to the business of hating each other #dcfc #nffc
Connor : We do love to laugh and hate on the Sheep but I'm glad they've got a deal done at last. Football is nothing without rivalries. Here's too many more years of bitterness, even if we're two leagues above you lot #DCFC #NFFC
Nick Fletcher : Really glad you have saved the club. But respectfully hope you linger in league 1 for a long time. #NFFC
Sean Kehoe : I am a lifelong Forest fan but I am very pleased Derby County is going to survive.
