The 20-year-old broke into the Boro first team this season, making 36 appearances in the Championship as Michael Carrick's team reached the play-offs.

Nottingham Forest transfer 'dreamt of' as Djed Spence replacement sought
Stade Rennais "dream of" signing Nottingham Forest defender Serge Aurier this summer.
The French side are reportedly eyeing Aurier as a replacement for Djed Spence, who they had on loan from Tottenham this season. They are planning to "shake up" their squad and have already got to work, having identified Aurier as their prime target for the right-back position.
That's according to Foot Mercato, who also note that Aurier "feels good" at Forest, so Stade Rennais might find it difficult to lure him away from the City Ground. He signed a one-year deal at the club last summer, but could be keen to pen fresh terms.

The duo have been on loan at Forest this season from Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid respectively, and have been crucial in recent weeks and months as the Reds secured their Premier League status.
Lodi joined on a season-long loan last summer, while Navas arrived in January after Dean Henderson picked up an injury that brought his campaign to an abrupt close.
