Nottingham Forest could have another fight with some of their relegation rivals on their hands ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Reds one of four clubs linked with an interest in Villarreal striker Boulaye Dia.
The Senegal international is currently on loan with Serie A side Salernitana, where he has caught eyes with his performances. In his 28 appearances in Italy’s top league, he has scored 11 goals and provided a further six assists.
The 26-year-old both scored and assisted in his side’s 3-0 win over Sassuolo on Saturday. He scored the side’s equaliser vs AC Milan last month in a 1-1 draw.

Salernitana are said to have a €12 million (£10.6m) option to make the deal permanent in the summer. Salernitananews report that they could face competition from Forest, Leeds United, Everton and Leicester City.
All four clubs remain in the race to play Premier League football again next season, with relegation said to hurt chances of completing the transfer. Forest take on Brighton and Hove Albion at the City Ground on Wednesday night (7:30pm kick off), before travelling to take on Brentford at the weekend.
It’s two games that could be crucial in the club’s fight against relegation this season. Steve Cooper ’s team currently sit in 19th place in the Premier League table, one point off safety, although their goal difference is worse than both Everton and Leicester on 28 points.
Forest have been active in the last two transfer windows as they looked to build a squad capable of playing in the Premier League. Striker Chris Wood arrived on loan from Newcastle in January, with an obligation to buy in the summer. The New Zealand international has missed the last six games with a hamstring injury.
