Nottingham Forest exit 'advanced' as former Reds midfielder also linked with club

Nottingham Forest forward Xande Silva is being linked with a transfer to French second-tier side Dijon this summer.

The 25-year-old signed for the Reds just under a year ago on transfer deadline day during last summer's window but has rarely featured since arriving at the City Ground from West Ham United. Silva made just two starts during the Championship promotion campaign, against Huddersfield Town in late December and on the final day against Hull City.

Just eight further substitute appearances were made by the former Portugal international, with only one, a quarter of an hour cameo against Reading, resulting in an assist when Silva set up Sam Surridge for the fourth in a 4-0 win at the City Ground. Despite that impact, the forward didn't feature again until the final day dead-rubber at Hull.

L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi is reporting that the Ligue 2 outfit have 'advanced' on transfers to sign for Silva as well as former Forest loanee Pelé. Now 30 years old, the Guinea-Bissau international remains a Monaco player and has since spent spells on loan at Reading and Rio Ave.

While with Forest, the defensive midfielder made nine appearances under Martin O'Neill. The subsequent spell with the Royals was more successful, tallying 34 appearances during the 2019/20 season.
