Nottingham Forest dealt unexpected Leicester City blow ahead of FA Cup clash

Nottingham Forest could line up against Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho when they host Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Ndidi and Iheanacho will be available for the game after Nigeria were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations.

It will come as an unexpected blow to Forest as the duo were not expected to be back at Leicester so soon.

Nigeria were among the favourites to win the tournament but crashed out at the hands of Tunisia in a shock result over the weekend.

They are both likely to feature against Forest as Leicester look to take the FA Cup extremely seriously.

Brendan Rodgers' side currently sit 10th in the Premier League - well below recent standards - and they will be expected to give their all to defend the FA Cup.

They already have defender Daniel Amartey back from the tournament after Ghana crashed out in the group stages.

With the Foxes closer to full strength, it will be a fantastic test for head coach Steve Cooper to pit his side against another Premier League outfit.

Forest will be full of confidence after their victory against Arsenal and both sides will be relishing the first meeting of the two clubs in eight years.
