Nottingham Forest 'considering' transfer move for £20m Leeds United ace

Nottingham Forest are said to be interested in Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams ahead of an important summer transfer window.

Head coach Steve Cooper has previously indicated there will be changes to his squad as the Reds look to progress in the Premier League next season. The club have already published their retained list, with six players and three loanees departing at the end of their contracts.

Further outgoings, as well as incomings, are expected - and the centre of the pitch is an area Forest will likely look to strengthen. Adams is one of the names under consideration for a move to the City Ground, according to the Daily Mail.

The USA international is said to be in line to depart Elland Road following the club’s relegation to the Championship. But there is likely to be plenty of interest in securing his services, with his agent having reportedly met clubs last week and Manchester United having previously been linked.

Midfielders Jack Colback and Cafu are among the players set to be released by the Reds when their deals expire at the end of this month - albeit the latter was not included in the 25-man Premier League squad. Jonjo Shelvey could also move on, despite having only put pen to paper in January.

Adams signed for Leeds from RB Leipzig last summer for a reported £20 million. He penned a five-year contract which runs until 2027, but may end up seeing out only 12 months of that as the Whites find themselves vulnerable to losing some of their key players.

The 24-year-old made 24 league appearances during the 2022/23 campaign. He missed the run-in due to a hamstring injury.
