Nottingham Forest ‘concern’ identified after Barnsley draw

Nottingham Forest fans have given their reaction to the goalless draw in the pre-season friendly vs Barnsley.

Steve Cooper’s side travelled up to Oakwell for their third match of pre-season as they step up preparations for a return to the Premier League. Forest fell to defeat in their first friendly against Coventry City last week, before beating Burton Albion 1-0 on Tuesday night.

The stalemate against Championship side Barnsley means that Forest have scored just two goals in their first three pre-season matches. The game did however see them record their second clean sheet in a row after the shut out vs Burton.

The match also saw one summer signing replace another with goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey replacing Dean Henderson after the latter appeared to pick up an injury in the first half. Both shot-stoppers have arrived at the City Ground over the last few weeks.

Following the draw against Barnsley, Forest fans took to social media to give their reaction. There is one area in particular that is concerning fans, here is what just some had to say.

Andrew : Hard to judge Forest at the minute. It’ll take time to bed everyone in. More faces will come through the door, but Cooper will have us ready to compete #NFFC

Sam Long : Just drew to Barnsley 0-0 only attacking threat once again is mighten, wow #nffc

FPLdonkey : Anyone else feeling a bit nervous? #nffc

Richard Webster : 2 clean sheets on the bounce. Build from the back. #nffc

Rob : Patience is the key. Nobody won anything or proved anything in pre-season. We’re still another 5/6 players away from how we’ll start. Just Coops hustlin’. No panic here #nffc

Kazza : Lack of goals/creativity concerning. We need some midfielders ASAP! #nffc

Adam Edwards : Full time report: nowt happened #nffc

Greeny : I know it’s pre season (so no pelters) but… We could really do with starting to score some goals #NFFC

Lewis : Yes it’s only pre season but yes it’s another dead game. We’re in desperate need of some creativity in the middle. It’s disappointing atm
