Nottingham Forest 'close' to completing first January transfer

Nottingham Forest winger Josh Bowler is reportedly 'close to re-signing' for Blackpool on loan, with his spell at Olympiacos set to be cut short.

The 23-year-old will return to a familiar place in Blackpool, where he spent the 2021/22 season before catching the eye and signing for the Reds. Bowler spent the last few months on loan at Olympiacos, but found game time hard to come by.

After just seven appearances in all competitions for the Greek side, he is set to return to the Championship. In 52 appearances for the Seasiders, the winger contributed to 13 goals.

According to journalist John Percy, Blackpool are close to re-signing Bowler for the second half of the season. His loan in Greece is set to be cut short.

One Blackpool fan, in response, said: "Tbh should've been loaned back for the season in the first place," while a second said: "Big fan of this."

A third continued: "This would be an absolutely massive boost for us if true. Game changer, regardless of who's manager. We could play the second half of the season with Bowler, Rogers and Poveda as an attacking three." A fourth claimed: "Tears in my eyes" before a fifth concluded: "Great start to the window if it gets done."
