Nottingham Forest change of heart has transfer target 'hoping' for City Ground move

Nottingham Forest are said to have reignited their interest in Blackpool winger Josh Bowler.

The Reds were linked with a move for the 23-year-old in the January transfer window and it looked like the switch would happen, but interest seemingly cooled as the month wore on. Forest instead bolstered their attacking quarters with a move for striker Sam Surridge.

According to The Sun, Forest are now interested in Bowler once more and the attacker is "hoping" the Reds make an offer to take him to the Premier League. He was almost an ever-present for Blackpool in the Championship last season, scoring seven goals in 42 league appearances.

There is also interest from Forest's fellow Premier League newcomers Bournemouth, who had a £3.5 million bid for Bowler rejected in the winter. Bowler has also been linked with Blackburn Rovers this summer, although a bid has not yet been made.

Bowler has 12 months left on his contract at Bloomfield Road and there is no suggestion he will sign a new deal in the near future. He started the season in fine form with a man-of-the-match performance against Reading on Saturday.

The Blackpool Gazette reported: "MAN OF THE MATCH: Josh Bowler - 9/10. In imperious form down the right as he terrorised his marker. Unlucky not to score and defensively better too."
