Valentine’s Day may have gone, but there still seems to be a real centre-back bromance developing at Nottingham Forest.
Whenever they’ve played together, Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna have been a formidable pairing for the Reds since the latter joined from Aberdeen in the summer of 2020 - with Steve Cook bolstering the defence further when he signed in January.
All three have made significant contributions to putting Forest in promotion contention as the season heads towards the business end.
McKenna, in particular, has developed a reputation for winning pretty much every header he challenges for in games, and has also chipped in with some big goal-saving clearances in recent weeks.
As a result, there’s been a lot of love for him from the terraces - and also from one of his teammates.
A cute video of a young fan breaking away from a soccer schools session to give McKenna a giant hug has gone down well on social media.
Nottingham Forest Community Trust posted the clip on Twitter, commenting: “The moment when you realise @Scottmckenna3 shows up at @NFFC soccer schools! #NFFC”
And, adding a heart emoji, Worrall quipped: “Feel like this on a weekly basis @Scottmckenna2”
Plenty of Reds supporters chipped in, too.
One said: “We all do Joe.”
Another added: “Bromance trentside.”
And one said: “To be fair I would give @Scottmckenna3 a hug if I saw him as well - and I’m 46 years old.”
One joked: “Surprised he didn’t header the poor lad away.””
