Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Stoke City

Head coach Steve Cooper has made one change to his Nottingham Forest starting line-up for this afternoon’s clash with Stoke City.

The Reds are looking to make it three wins in a row in all competitions, in what has been an action-packed week.

Last Sunday, they thumped Premier League Leicester City 4-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup, and they followed that up by seeing off Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

Goals from James Garner and Brennan Johnson clinched a 2-0 success for the visitors at Ewood Park, with the three points lifting them into the Championship’s top six for the first time this season.

Just as in midweek, Forest are set to line up with a three-man defence made up of skipper Joe Worrall, Steve Cook and Scott McKenna, ahead of goalkeeper Brice Samba.

Djed Spence and Max Lowe keep their spots at right and left wing-back respectively, with Jack Colback and James Garner - fresh from netting his second of the campaign - in the centre of the pitch.

In front of what is set to be a sold-out City Ground, Ryan Yates drops to the bench as Philip Zinckernagel comes back into the attack, joining Johnson in supporting front man Keinan Davis.

Along with Yates, making up the bench are Ethan Horvath, Tobias Figueiredo, Cafu and Xande Silva.

Sam Surridge is also among the substitutes, against the club who he made the move to Forest from on deadline day almost a fortnight ago. And there is a spot for Alex Mighten as he makes his comeback from a knee injury.

The Reds are four points ahead of 11th place Stoke ahead of kick-off and have registered nine wins in their last 12 games.

Forest: Samba; Worrall, Cook, McKenna; Spence, Colback, Garner, Lowe; Zinckernagel, Davis, Johnson. Subs: Horvath, Figueiredo, Surridge, Mighten, Cafu, Silva, Yates.
