Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Hull City

Head coach Steve Cooper rings the changes to his starting line-up for Nottingham Forest’s final game of the regular season.

Tuesday night’s defeat at Bournemouth ended the Reds’ hopes of automatic promotion, leaving little riding on this afternoon’s clash against Hull City. But the visitors will still be looking to end their Championship campaign on a high note as they prepare for the play-offs.

Forest have the chance to clinch a third-placed finish in the last round of league fixtures. And a win would see the club record their highest points tally in the second tier since 1998.

With the play-offs in mind, Cooper had said he wouldn’t take any risks over players carrying knocks or feeling the effects of a hectic run of matches. And only four players keep their places from the team which started at the Vitality Stadium.

Brice Samba, Joe Worrall, Philip Zinckernagel and James Garner retain their spots. But the Reds boss dips into his squad to make up the remainder of the XI.

Tobias Figueiredo and Jonathan Panzo come into the back line, in place of Steve Cook and Scott McKenna, linking up with Worrall, ahead of goalkeeper Samba. It is a Reds debut for January signing Panzo. Meanwhile, Cafu steps in for Ryan Yates in midfield, lining up alongside Garner.

Richie Laryea is handed his full debut at right wing-back, with Joe Lolley deployed on the left. With the Reds particularly short of attacking options, Zinckernagel and Alex Mighten support Xande Silva up front. The bench is made up of Ethan Horvath, Djed Spence, Loic Mbe Soh, Sam Surridge, Brennan Johnson, Braian Ojeda and McKenna.

Forest: Samba; Worrall, Figueiredo, Panzo; Laryea, Garner, Cafu, Lolley; Zinckernagel, Silva, Mighten. Subs: Horvath, Spence, Mbe Soh, Surridge, Johnson, Ojeda, McKenna.
