Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Huddersfield Town in FA Cup

Head coach Steve Cooper makes two changes to his Nottingham Forest starting XI for this evening’s FA Cup clash with Huddersfield Town.

The Reds take on the Terriers at the City Ground in a fifth round tie, with the winners earning a home quarter-final against Premier League heavyweights Liverpool.

Cooper’s men have already seen off top-flight Arsenal and holders Leicester City in the competition, amid a tremendous atmosphere on the banks of the Trent on both occasions.

They go into the match on the back of Friday’s dramatic 1-1 draw at Sheffield United, when a last-minute Ryan Yates header ensured they returned with a share of the spoils.

Defender Max Lowe (ineligible to feature against his parent club) and goalkeeper Brice Samba (suspended) were both unavailable against the Blades.

The former comes back into the line-up tonight, but Samba is on the bench as Ethan Horvath keeps his place between the posts.

The three-man back line of Joe Worrall, Steve Cook and Scott McKenna keep their places ahead of the shot-stopper.

Jack Colback had filled in for Lowe at left wing-back at Bramall Lane, but is among the substitutes against the Terriers as James Garner and Ryan Yates take the midfield spots, with Djed Spence on the right flank.

And there is a change at the top end of the pitch as January signing Sam Surridge makes his first start for the club, replacing Keinan Davis up front, with Brennan Johnson and Philip Zinckernagel in support.

The extra substitutions permitted in the FA Cup means a bumper bench, with Tobias Figueiredo, Richie Laryea, Alex Mighten, Cafu, Xande Silva and Joe Lolley joining Samba, Davis and Colback in watching from the sidelines.

With no replays, a winner must be decided tonight, leaving the possibility of extra-time and penalties, if it is all-square after 90 minutes.

Forest: Horvath; Worrall, Cook, McKenna; Spence, Yates, Garner, Lowe; Johnson, Surridge, Zinckernagel. Subs: Samba, Figueiredo, Colback, Davis, Laryea, Mighten, Cafu, Silva, Lolley.
